Ethan Shaw
Most mornings, I start with a notebook and a question I can't quite answer yet. By the time I've written through it, tested a few angles, and cross-checked what the data actually says, the answer usually looks nothing like what I expected — and that's exactly the part I find most worth sharing.
How I Work
My days split pretty naturally between two modes: analyst and writer. One digs into patterns, pokes at assumptions, and demands evidence. The other figures out how to explain all of that without losing anyone along the way. I don't treat these as separate jobs — the writing gets sharper because of the analysis, and the analysis stays honest because I have to put it into plain words someone else can actually use.
Hands-on practice keeps everything grounded. I test approaches before I recommend them, which means the guidance here comes from real experience rather than theory rehearsed at a distance.
